Stubby the Cat Makes the Front Page of the Gloucester Times

Well, the Gloucester Daily Times had a great front page story yesterday and it features our friends at Maritime Gloucester - and others on Harbor Loop and is a nice story about Stubby the Cat.  Stubby is a great cat and has also read our dog Daisy the riot act. She doesn't like to be trifled with by dogs...and lets them know it.  Anyway, its a fun story. We sail out of Maritime Gloucester at Harbor Loop so next summer be sure and come down to meet Stubby.

Mystery of missing wharf cat

Stubby's disappearance scares corner of waterfront

By Steven Fletcher

A yellow-orange tabby sent much of Harbor Loop into a tizzy when he disappeared in the Thursday afternoon rain.

Stubby, named for his docked tail, is a fixture on the loop, with comfy quarters in the both Maritime Gloucester's Dive Locker museum and in the TD Bank building.

So when the feline vanished Thursday — scooped up and carried away by an outsider, some feared — one of TD Bank's customers was the first to notice.

That was Julia McConnell, who works with Cape Ann Feline Rescue. She had trapped Stubby and had him neutered when he was living on the docks more than a decade ago, when Feline Rescue was rounding up wharf cats.

Read the whole story in the Gloucester Times here.
